About Social Law Docs

Legal templates for influencer marketing, built by practitioners who work in the space.

What Social Law Docs is

Social Law Docs is an Australian document template business. We sell legal templates for influencer marketing campaigns — agreements, licences and consent forms that brands, agencies and creators can buy, download and use without engaging a law firm for every deal.

We are not a law firm. We do not give legal advice. We sell templates.

The templates are drafted by lawyers who work in the influencer marketing space and are built around Australian law — the Australian Consumer Law, the AANA Code of Ethics, the AiMCO Australian Influencer Marketing Code of Practice, ABAC alcohol marketing rules and state child employment laws, where they apply.

Who the templates are for

The templates are built for three groups of people:

  • Brands that run influencer campaigns in-house and want a compliant, ready-to-use agreement without paying law firm rates for every deal.
  • Agencies that manage campaigns on behalf of clients and need a reliable template they can use across multiple briefs.
  • Creators and influencers who want to understand what they are signing, or who want their own template to send to brands.

What the templates cover

The templates address the issues that come up in real campaigns:

  • Deliverables — what content is required, in what format, on what platform
  • Fees and gifting — how the influencer is paid and what products they receive
  • Content rights — who owns the content and what the brand can do with it
  • Usage rights — how long the brand can use the content and where
  • Post dates and approval — when content goes live and who approves it first
  • Boosting and paid amplification — whether the brand can run the content as paid media
  • Disclosure — the influencer’s obligation to disclose the commercial relationship
  • Exclusivity — restrictions on working with competing brands

Our relationship with Social Law Co

Social Law Docs is affiliated with Social Law Co, an Australian law firm practising in the influencer marketing space. The templates draw on that firm’s day-to-day experience with real campaigns, real briefs and real disputes.

The two businesses are separate. Social Law Docs is not a law firm, is not regulated as one, and does not provide legal advice. We sell templates. When a customer needs advice, a review, custom drafting or negotiation support, we refer them to Social Law Co, which takes on that work under its own terms of engagement.

What we do not do

  • We do not give legal advice, in any form, about any template or any campaign.
  • We do not review, amend or customise documents for individual customers.
  • We do not act for you as your lawyer, and buying a template does not make you a client of Social Law Co.

If you need any of those things, contact Social Law Co.

Not legal advice. Social Law Docs sells document templates, not legal advice. Templates are general documents and are not tailored to your circumstances. You should obtain your own legal advice before relying on any template. Buying a template does not create a lawyer-client relationship between you and Social Law Docs or Social Law Co. If you need legal advice, contact Social Law Co.
